With some comp picks after the 2008 season, Angels drafted Trout, Grichuk, Skaggs, Richards, and Corbin. They started drafting only after 23 names were taken off the board. Looks like a decent job by Eddie Bane and his staff, but it wasn't up to Tony Reagins' standards.

Yeah - there will still be some growing pains occasionally, but Richards looks really good. His stuff is - at times - unhittable. Just nasty.

I freaking heart Richards. His average fastball is sitting at 95.8 MPH, and he's throwing that hard late in games with no loss of control. Between Richards and Skaggs, the Angels' rotation from 1 to 4 is really strong, contender strong. If the bullpen doesn't torpedo too many games, this squad could really make some noise late in the season.

That's funny, yesterday it was Jordan Zimmermann that was the best pitcher I didn't know.

Well, yesterday you met Zimmermann, today you met Richards. Just think what pitcher you'll get to meet tomorrow!

Won't be Skaggs
