Free agent Vladimir Guerrero is trying to duplicate the success of the Cespedes video:

Ken Rosenthal tweeted a link to a video of Guerrero taking some cuts, running, and demonstrating that he can still toss a baseball, and it’s well worth a viewing based on the early 90s infomercial vibe and for a glimpse of Vlad rocking an Expos cap.

Wow. That's a sad excuse for a baseball field that Vladdy is working out on. But I really love the vintage 'Spos cap.

I love Vlad. That is all.

Wow, needs to work on the sit-ups.

I thought this was Fred McGriff's turf? Is Emanski producing this one?

I played six games at AAA With Toronto. I did really well but they didn't give me a chance.

For #### sakes.

1) It was eight games. Give yourself some credit.
2) You were hitting .214 after the first seven games. Then, you went 4/5 with a triple and promptly quit in a huff because Anthopolous wasn't waiting for you after the game with a limo to personally transport you to Toronto.

I was rooting hard for Vlad last year, and felt excited when he got called up to AAA, but he sealed his own fate when he quit after one good game and frankly .303/.314/.424 is not particularly impessive in AAA when 5 of the games (including the only good one) are in the Las Vegas Launching Pad.

I found Vlad's description of his time with the Jays to be funny given the following turn of events:

1) Vlad throws a hissy fit after being stuck in AAA for a week.
2) Vlad asks for and receives his release.
3) Vlad remains unsigned for the remained of the 2012 season.
4) It's March 2013 and Vlad has to make a video asking teams to sign him to a minor league deal.
5) Vlad's comeback announcement causes several teams (including the Houston Astros) to announce that they're not interested in signing him at any price.

I was also rooting for Vlad to make it to Toronto. When he asked for his release, Kelly Johnson was hitting fifth for the Jays. All he needed to do was shut up and have a hot homestand in Las Vegas. Instead he quit and lost his best opportunity to stave off retirement.

Killing goats with dingers ... amazing.

It was weird to see Vlad taking grounders at first base. If you've got a guy with that kind of arm, seems like a massive waste to play him at 1B.

I guess he's 38 and has a wonky back, but still. It looked weird.

I can't be arsed to watch it, but I need to know; how's his CORE STRENGTH?

Does anyone else think the stop watch time is wrong? He looks like he is in slow motion when running.

Seeing this makes me wonder if Vlad has a cent left to his name.

No idea, but I remember reading somewhere that Vlad has at least a few babymommas running around out there. That can't be helping his finances...

Perhaps he has a sense of humor and made it as a joke?
   15. Flynn Posted: March 05, 2013 at 06:13 PM (#4381487)
He's wearing Expos pants too, road edition with red and white stripes.

Seeing this makes me wonder if Vlad has a cent left to his name.

What could he possibly be doing? Apparently he's invested a lot in infrastructure in his hometown, which might explain it, but wasn't he kind of a recluse? Supposedly he'd just shack up in his apartment in Montreal and never really leave except to go to the ballpark. He loved it too, he wanted to stay there.

Eight kids by 5 different women, costing him $25,000 a month. But he also has $25 million in stocks and bonds, which must provide him a solid income. Maybe he just likes playing ball?

If the Cano/Granderson/ARod story turns out to be real, the Yankees need to bring Vlad to the Bronx.

His swing looked terrible in that video, really slow and long. I guess he was never actually a model at the plate though, however great his results were.

I saw a washed up former player in that video that still has an absolute hose of an arm. He should try and come back as a pitcher.
