WaPo: Anthony Rendon wow Washington Nationals coaches, staff

A look at the Washington Nationals’ third baseman of the futu—oh wait, I was traveling this weekend, did I miss any big Nationals news?

The Nationals will find a place for Rendon because of his bat. Nationals scouting director Kris Kline called him “the best hitter in the draft” last year. When asked about Rendon’s swing, third base coach Bo Porter smiled, shook his head and said, “Ooooh!”

Last week, Porter threw batting practice to Rendon, and after Rendon sprayed line drives, Porter approached him. “I had your swing before the accident,” Porter said.

“What accident?” Rendon asked.

“I was born,” Porter said.

Because of line drives in batting practice? Every high school has 15 kids who hit line drives in batting practice.

Yeah! These scouts are obviously all morons.

If Fetal Bo Porter had Rendon's swing before he was born, then he's the most disappointing prospect of all time. I can only imagine the age 27 projection from a guy who at zero would have been the best hitter in a draft class.

If he can actually play second base, this is gonna be a damn impressive lineup the Nats can run out pretty soon

Yeah! These scouts are obviously all morons.

Do you mean the real scouts who watched him play games and determined that he is a good baseball player or the ones in your imagination who submitted reports saying, "Hits line drives in BP. This is very rare and impressive. Take him!"

Porter was born before Roe v. Wade?

Whatever. The guy can hit. I hope that his shoulder issues don't hinder him going forward and he can fully show what he's got. The Nats are going to be fun soon.
