WBC Finals: Dominican Republic 3, Puerto Rico 0 (DR runs table and wins 1st WBC title)

My top moments from the tournament...

5)The atmosphere in Taiwan for the home team games.
4)Italy's nail biting win over Mexico featuring Jason Grilli's near meltdown.
3)The Canada/Mexico Brawl
2)Netherlands knocking out Cuba in walk off fashion.
1)Taiwan vs. Japan...every stinkin' pitch

I gotta go with the Dutch win. Mainly because I think Taiwan vs. Japan was one of the few games I missed due to my traitorous alarm clock.

I'm happy Samuel Deduno got the win in the final. He seems to have bounced around; I guess he never has been able to harness his control. If he never does and thus never sticks in MLB, a win in the title game isn't a bad thing to take home.

This was a really fun tournament (and the Japan group timings worked for me!). I genuinely loved it and hope that it grows more popular.

Also, Kenta Maeda was really, really good.

I would switch it from 4 years to every 2 years.

And a question, what happened to Korea? Did they fielded a team this year?

They were in a tough group with the Dutch and host Taiwan. They went 2-1 but went out on tiebreakers.
