and why…Derek Jeter is a no-good cheater!
So this is how the game went during Monday’s workout: Each of us taking batting practice can’t hit a ball foul or it will cost five push-ups. Then if we hit a ball we think is going out you have to call it, but if it doesn’t go out then that will cost you five push-ups.
I end up hitting a couple of line-drives that hit the top of the fence that I thought were gone. So I did my push-ups … real push-ups. Derek Jeter? Well, he didn’t really go down all the way. I’m not a trainer or anything, but those weren’t push-ups.
But Derek is a great guy, one of a bunch of great guys on this team. He’s a guy who has a good personality and I really think he enjoys coming here each day and playing. Any guy like that you can joke around with because if you love playing baseball you have to keep it relaxed and keep an upbeat atmosphere. There are a lot of guys on this team like that. That’s what makes it fun. This World Baseball Classic is a tough tournament to play in, but if you stay relaxed it slows down and you can really enjoy it.

1. OPS+ Posted: March 10, 2009 at 01:13 PM (#3097751)Quite surprising for a radio station's website.
I'm really surprised that Pedroia knows how to blog ... or read.
I find this senitment...confusing. He doesn't seem particularly lunkheaded to me.
No, he does regulation push-ups. They just look like they're from his knees.
I'm really surprised that Pedroia knows how to blog ... or read.
If i had to suspect one Red Sox player of illiteracy, it would probably be Papelbon
Bingo. Now there's a guy who comes across as a lunkhead.
Yokels can be scary sometimes. Not always, but sometimes. In any case, I'll be traveling through Georgia and Alabama the end of April and I'll have my books with me.
Or, like the town of Fife, Alabama, he just made it up (and I'm a Hicks fan).
Nah. Papelbon is just jerking people around for his own amusement with all the stuff he says - sort of Bill Lee-like, but a good ole boy, instead of a California counterculture guy. You watch how much money he gets out of the Red Sox by refusing to sign a long term deal.
If I had to guess at someone being illiterate, it'd be Lugo.
Sheesh. He's a comedian, not an ethnographer.
Naw. There was an undercurrent of intelligence ot Bill Lee's inanities. Papeblon is just a dork.
Well, I think Papelbon is actually also intelligent and just realizes it's easier to play the fool than to suffer the foolishness of the media. But I could see it your way, too.
"What you readin' for" and his Fife, AL bit are big ones for Hicks. All I'm saying that there's another possibility besides he was having his leg pulled, like he made it up or yes there really are people who don't understand why people choose to read.
What's the occasion? Atlanta meetup?
Hey man, I've got a life outside BBTF! I'm going to do some camping at Cumberland Island and then meet my mother in Alabama to visit my grandma's grave and say hello to some relatives I've never met. I'm sure I'll run into a bowl or two of cheese grits while I'm down there.
Yeah, but no other Red Sox player gives the *impression* of being a straight-F student better than Papelbon.
Congratulations. In the interest of your own selfish intellectual wishes you likely created more work for some underpaid pages so that you could make it harder for some other students to get their work done. Ayn Rand would be proud of you.
Ha, yeah man, I'm with you. Whenever I pass by some Chomsky books I pull all the ############# out, make a real loud scene, and then burn the ####### right in the middle of the library. I mean, #### him, right?
Fight the power, you salty dog.
Then go get your own ####### waffles you worthless ########. Her job is so worthless that you're paying her to do it? Arrogant piece of ####.
Note that this leaves open whether they were doing it for their own amusement or for his . . .
"Then I kicked the sh*t out of him, because, well he's a Yankee, that's why"
Bill Hicks died of pancreatic cancer 15 years ago if it makes you feel any better.
You do realize you're yelling at a dead comedian, right?
And here the day was limping along until, whoa! A Bill Hicks transcript! Blessings on you.
And nobody minds yokels, just so long as they don't vote.
It's not nice to refer to your relatives as bowls of cheese grits.
<rimshot>
El Mombre, I take it you've caught Hicks's sketch on Marketing? A sentiment we can all get behind, Randian or not.
Which has what to do with anything?
Also, what the #### has happened to Primer?
Derek Jeter? Well, he didn’t really go down all the way.
I remember a day when this wouldn't have made it 4 posts, much less 44, without being noted.
Well Jeter was obviously just a little too excited about being near Pedroia, he went down as far as he could. Given the circumstances.
My year long exile was over March 4.
