Weiner succeeds Fehr as union head

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.—Michael Weiner has taken over from Donald Fehr as head of the baseball players’ association.

It’s officially official. I wonder if MLB will have a successor lined up in time to call the shots for the next CBA negotiations. Seems like a bad move to let a lame-duck Bud be the final word and then immediately step down.

Michael Weiner and Rob Manfred have built a solid relationship over the years, so unless some owner's cabal gets out of line, the negotiations will be tough but civil.

It would have been more impressive to come up with a Simpsons line for Manfred or Ostertag...

Have the playoffs mimic the regular season. Only one day off for inbetween series.

Best of seven division series? The players are even worse in choosing money-hungry 'hos as leader than the owners. And when you are greedier than Selig, you are really greedy.
