Who the Boston Red Sox should hire as their next manager

No thank you [to Ron Gardenhire].

Alec Cora sounds interesting. I’m not sure Boston is the best first job though. Torey Lovullo was a missed opportunity. Most of the others are bad fits or tired retreads. One interesting name I heard is Mike Redmond. He got his first job out of the way. He’s open to sabermetrics. He also seems like a good guy who relates to players well.

John Gibbons of course.

He's been stuck for so long maybe he'll never get the chance but Dave Martinez should at least be a name in the hat. Francona must have an assistant worth considering as well. What's the status of Bochy's contract?

I thought the Phillies manager who they just fired seemed to be doing a good job.

Already rumored to be in the running for the Phillies job.

Amaro Jr., haha. He used the Phillies pocketbook to buy a World Series and then promptly ran the franchise into the ground. Schmuck.

Alex Rodriguez would be the best choice, but you chowderhead losers said so many mean things about him.

For a team that's been so good for the last half-century, the Red Sox really don't have that many well-regarded managers. Francona. Dick Williams back when. And ..... what? Bobby Valentine was well-regarded until he came to Boston.

Zimmer? DarrelL Johnson? Grady Little? The guy they just fired? Joe Morgan? John McNamara?

It's an impressive half-century of success given how few of their managers have gained a positive reputation among the overall baseball community.

Houk? My sense of him as a kid was that he was well respected but probably past his sell by date when he came to Boston.

More generally I think the Sox job has historically been designed to chew managers up and spit them out. There was an end goal that was then not reached, often in horrific fashion. How is Zimmer remembered if the Sox go all the way? Is McNamara more of a Francona type if Schiraldi doesn't throw up on himself?

If other teams also fired managers or GM's when their teams got ousted in the playoffs, Terry Francona could be available. And if the Nationals win once more, so would Theo Epstein. It could be a reunion. :)

Destiny Molitor is stunning. I once shared a limo ride with her [name drop] and I could barely speak.

They could grab Kevin Long from the Mets. He did train a lot of Yankees.

Joe Torre might be available. Probably expensive.
