Britt was a swimmer in college and is probably reasonably fleet of foot. I don't know how good of a hitter she is.

I'm just wondering how Buck got her on the roster, and why she's starting at DH.

It's very unclear - this happened to me at the start of the season. Do NOT pay for At Bat if you already pay for MLB.tv. Download the free At Bat Lite and then log in - it converts itself to the pay version without charging you further.

Also, the TV feed works on my older (2.3) Android phone but not a much newer (3.1) tablet. Stupid Android fragmentation.

Hinske over Francisco also allows Fredi to use Martin Prado as the backup to 3B, SS, or 2B as needed. The only other SS he has on the roster is Tyler Pastornicky, who can't play SS.

Note: I don't need the atbat app, was just reading about it because of the other posts on it.

I think I'm warming up to this format. It's a gimmick. But it's a gimmick that will provide a lot of crazy fun baseball.

On my app I've got the score in the top left and then on the right a little icon to see the box score, 3 little dots that allow me to see other scores and a tv icon that...well it doesn't seem to do anything right now. I'm hopeful that will allow me to change views as the game progresses.

Yep, nothing showing yet, but I'm somewhat giddy with the concept of being able to choose the camera angles.

I have pretty much supported this format since about a month after it was proposed, I had to be convinced, but ultimately I think it's the best format as far as compromise can go. You can never satisfy the traditionalists of course, but this strengthens winning the division, it even helps the wild card team that easily wins the wild card(like the Braves) in that they can give themselves their best pitcher for this one game format. Yes there are always going to be years that you might not have an exciting finish, but that has always been the case, in the pre-wildcard days you might be lucky to get one race a year, in the pre-divisional days, some seasons September was just a waste of everyone's time(see 1968) At the same time you have to balance it out so that there is some teams going home disappointed.

Ah, the avocado commercials. How I missed those charming attempts to convince us all that avocados are as important and indispensable a part of the American pastime as hot dogs, Cracker Jack and avocado pie.

I agree but I think it would be a bit empty to go through all they went through, make the playoffs and then play one road game and be done. You're right, they should be playing with house money but I think the format changes that. It would have to suck after 15 years to not even get a single home game.

Quad View is the winner. Top left is the traditional view from behind the pitcher, then high home view on the top right so I can see everything that happens then bottom left and right are first and third base line views. Both of those cameras move too much.

Noooo... I think the tomahawk chop is worse than those. It is literally tiresome: it actually has a narcotic effect that stifles enthusiasm. And it happens during the game, like at all points during the game, endlessly. "Sweet Caroline" is just a dumb mid-inning ritual.

I just discovered the regular MLB.TV lets you change broadcasters (so's I could listen to the radio team if I infinitely preferred them, for example). But the postseason.tv doesn't give you the same option.

You can mute the tv broadcast, then bring up gameday and choose the radio broadcast from there if you want. That is what I'm doing.

Why on earth is David Ross a backup? Ross backing up McCann reminds me of Todd Pratt backing up Piazza.

I think it's ridiculous that they are allowed to have a one game roster, but at the same time, this is the type of bench that I think baseball should be shooting for on a daily basis.

Bottom line, the umpire's decision to call time after Lohse began his wind-up affected the results of the game, one way or the other.

I went ahead and am listening to the national broadcasts....and they are talking about the Cardinal injuries.... Let me explain something, those injuries were expected, maybe not the Carpenter injury, but for the most part the Cardinals should not have been surprised at the number of games lost to injury this season, it was well within expectations. You get an old team, filled with players who haven't been healthy over the past four years, you have to expect injuries, to woe is me at the end of the season is not being realistic.

Cardsfanboy- I actually just rewound to check the location of the two change ups. The first one was a good one- down and on the corner of the plate. The second one was up and over the plate. If you throw the change twice in a row, the second one better be a quality pitch.
