There was definitely an Argo ad at some point tonight.
I wasn't watching the Skyfall trailer, just listening to the dialogue. Assumed it was a trailer for "Taken 2", until the very end when the music started.
This is a fun game for this neutral fan (well okay I'm rooting for the O's but I will be rooting for either team against the Yankees so may as well start the positive feelings now).
I was on a plane watching the NL wild card game (thanks Virgin America!) and when the infield fly thing happened the whole plane murmured in disbelief.
This isn't really that relevant, with the 1-day rosters not needing starters Washington should have plenty of pinch-hitters avai...wait, the Rangers have 11 pitchers on their roster? Then why did Holland come in the ga... never mind.
A few years before that, they didn't protect Bobby Jenks, either — they held a spot to protect Josh Paul, a third-string catcher. It's amazing the talent that's fallen through.

There goes the DH.
That seems inexplicable (I know, Ron Washington is the Rangers' manager is a perfectly reasonable "explanation"). Who couldn't see this coming? You might want to pinch-hit Moreland for Soto. How can you accomplish this without losing the DH? I dunno, maybe starting Napoli at 1B and having Young DH? Pinch-hit Moreland for Soto, move Napoli to C, leave Moreland in the game at 1B. Do the Rangers seriously not have somebody who can help Washington out with this kind of stuff?

late to the thread, but anyone have the Win Probability for Braves before and after "the play"?
I always find it fun that so many fans get just as outraged at a call like in the Packers-Seahawks game on last play, as something not quite as game-changing as that....

Joe Dimino tweeted 13.5% as called vs. 26.2% if they'd called it correctly.
late to the thread, but anyone have the Win Probability for Braves before and after "the play"?
According to THT's win prob (with a 4.5 RPG environment), the Braves would have had a 24% chance of winning if the call was made correctly, and had a 10% chance of winning after it was blown.
EDIT: Coke to Kiko. FG has it at 9% after the bad call (13% before he play).

For the last 4 half-inning breaks I've flipped over to MLBN; they've been in commercial break also. Wouldn't that be the perfect time to deliver "content"? I'm certainly not going to stick around to watch commercials if I've already flipped channels AWAY from commercials.
I don't think I have ever heard a stadium boo one of its own batters more than Josh Hamilton has been booed in this game. Pitchers, yes.

Okay, somebody explain to me how Baltimore can possibly f*ck this up.
The league is going to drop in the umps from the Braves/Cardinal games, and add a few of the replacement refs from the NFL (the ones that were fired by the lingerie football league for incompetence)....then they are going to force the Orioles to use the Cardinals bullpen. Trout has been traded to the Rangers for the rest of the game.

Why would anybody get worked up about a call in an exhibition game?
Let's see ... MLB.com says he's taller than everyone except Jim Johnson.
Pretty unusual catcher.
Looking at Dimino's tweet again, it's not clear what the 13.5% was for - it could have been before the play.
This is evil.
Just for the joy of watching the life fade out of their eyes.

Former Cardinal Torre upholds the call? Shocking.
Because Buck wants to keep the bat in case something happens. Or at least that is what it is according to Cal.
Torre's career by games played:
Braves 1037
Cardinals 918
Mets 254
You too are free to set yourself on fire if you like. It's a wide ranging option.
If Lew Ford gets picked off, Buck might have wished he'd left Thome in to run for himself.
Too soon?
I'm so excited for Buck and the O's right now.
You got any tickets?

Walks, hits, home runs. Possibly errors.
Don't watch many Yankees games, eh? A-Rod thinks Hamilton has it easy.
Well, there's your walk. But I can't say that walking Napoli is the worst outcome in this situation.
Of course, if this skinny runt shanks a base hit that makes it a different situation.
