Brenly.
Ditto, though I made an exception for Jon Stewart's interview with Olivia Wilde last week. That was a good decision. Good Christ, she is striking.
Bob Brenly for the Diamondbacks.
D'oh.. I had forgotten there was another one.
(Checks)
Yup, he had coaching experience, but no managing. Thanks.
I do make exceptions if it's a good comedian...not really for hot women though.
Isn't that preferable to playing a team that did win their division?
I know it's only for this year but I do like the possibility that the 1 seeds could have only 1 home game.
Yes, and isn't it preferable for the Braves to have to play a team that they posted 6 more wins than?
You can torture the logic anyway you want, but it doesn't matter, there is nothing that the Braves have to do, that makes their complaints any more legitimate than the Nationals or Reds complaining about the Braves in the post season.
True, but he was saying he had to pack, as though the departure from Atlanta would be imminent in case of a victory.
Because....
I actually hate the Cards more than the Braves currently, and really want them to lose.
Bull ####### ####. I mean, bull ####### ####. Go to hell everyone on the ####### field.
First postseason forfeit?
Thank G*d I'm a country boy!
Agree with 440...horrible call, don't know if it will affect the game yet. Three runs is still three runs. Although bases loaded one out vs 2nd/3rd two outs.
And they should
Right, because northerners never do anything like this.
Now I hope if a can hits an ump, he's a northerner.
One of the worst calls I've ever seen. I am sick.
I oppose throwing things on the field and find it classless etc. But at this point in time, it's justified. Playoff game, a really ###### up call during a play that was continuation of a rally and a potential comeback.
STFU, moron
#### it, call a forfeit. Darling says Holbrook was nearly hit. Damn shame he wasn't. Run over him with the jeep.
If the Braves don't come back and win this, hoowee what a shitstorm it shall be.
Fans not helping.
Northerners are gentlemen. When we intentionally vomit on the little girl in front of us or gleefully replace song lyrics with hatespeech, it is done with the utmost class.
Pious moralizers.
If ever there were a real person, it'd be one who slurs tens of millions of people. I think there's a word for people like that. (Even when they're just kidding!)
Concur.
How is throwing large items onto the field justified? A stupid ruling in a baseball game does not justify violence.
Less than a second elapsed from the absurd call to the ball hitting the ground. One of the worst calls you'll ever see.
Strangely, neither part involves the word "INFIELD."
Paper airplanes? Beach balls?
Pretty sure this was a joke. Right, Alan?
edit: I see [473]. Clearly.
From the replay, which admittedly does not include sound, the LF ump puts his arm up after the SS gives up on the play. Which strikes me as insane, but here we are.
"4.19 No protest shall ever be permitted on judgment decisions by the umpire."
"2.00 The umpire must rule also that a ball is an infield fly, even if handled by an outfielder, if, in the umpire’s judgment, the ball could have been as easily handled by an infielder. The infield fly is in no sense to be considered an appeal play. The umpire’s judgment must govern, and the decision should be made immediately."
So it looks like a judgement call. A really crappy judgement call.
You can protest a rule error but not a judgment call. If the umps think it was ordinary effort then it's an awful call but not protestable. If the umps say its any catchable ball or something like that then you could protest.
