World Baseball Classic Update for Oct. 17, 2012

Note: You may need to expand to see all of the links.
Australia’s roster for a series against the Sydney Blue Sox has been released. The series, which will occur October 26-28, is meant to get some national team practice in while giving some of the younger players a chance to show their stuff to try and earn a call-up for the WBC proper. Notable veteran players include Luke Hughes and Justin Huber.

Venezuela has filled it’s coaching staff. Luis Sojo will manage, Andres Galarraga will be hitting coach and Wilson Alvarez will be pitching coach. The rest of the coaching staff is at the link.

Not sure if I’ve already linked this, but Cuba has released a preliminary roster for the WBC. It’ll be cut down over the next few months after inter-squad games and games in Japan, Panama and Taiwan.

Japan will be holding a mini-camp in Miyazaki next February in preparation for the WBC.
