prince doesn't shy away from contact but nor is he a malicious guy
and he was hustling all the way, or as much as a chubby puppy can hustle
that's leaving a knot
Was anyone else hoping Jackson catches that just for the 1-8 putout?
If someone in the clubhouse sees that replay, I think they are taking him out.

It's a funny thing; he could be perfectly fine and he could fall over dead in an hour. I hope they at least have an ambulance ready to go.
ok mr happy. way to go.
MLB Gameday thinks Fister's been getting squeezed a LOT already.
That list starts with Robinzon Diaz for Jose Bautista, but Fister was traded for Charlie Furbush, Casper Wells, Chance Ruffin, and a minor leaguer named Francisco Martinez.
#6Org has a great track record the last decade or so...
interesting phrase choice there youngster
I hear it all; I play on a gay softball team. One of them already wrote the group about how "Fister has a violent delivery."
Yes. Looks like it ended in '86.
Is it really so bad? The Fister trade was bad, the Cliff Lee trade to Texas was bad, but they got Cliff Lee for three players who haven't sniffed the majors yet. They traded Pineda before his shoulder exploded (granted, Montero hasn't panned out yet, but it's still early), and they pulled off this highway robbery deal:
Franklin Gutierrez traded as part of a 3-team trade by the Cleveland Indians to the Seattle Mariners. The Seattle Mariners sent Sean Green, J.J. Putz and Jeremy Reed to the New York Mets. The Seattle Mariners sent Luis Valbuena to the Cleveland Indians. The New York Mets sent Mike Carp, Ezequiel Carrera, Endy Chavez, Maikel Cleto, Aaron Heilman and Jason Vargas to the Seattle Mariners. The New York Mets sent Joe Smith to the Cleveland Indians.
Maybe I'm forgetting some of their awful deals, but the Mariners recent problems seems to be a combo of bad free agent signings and players not developing.
For some reason nobody has ever been able to make contemplation appear in a 30-second TV ad.
Jones, Tillman and Sherill for Bedard.
Good point, but the music choice was still pretty terrible for the mood of the book.
One I started on it, I had to get the wife to finish off all the other gin we had. A slice of cucumber for a garnish, and it just doesn't get any better for clear spirits
I thought that was the Brad Pitt thing. No?
I loved the book, but am very concerned that making into "the next Avatar" will not endear me to the movie version.
Edit: never mind, good call. Probably safe if he runs through the bag.
I think a few of my hipstery friends had put me off it, I expected to dislike it. I probably never would have read it, but I was traveling by bus in New Zealand, and that's the only thing I could find in the hostel. Thought it was very good.
man, that seems like a bit uneven as a tradeoff
Could a playlist just be the list itself and not the MP3s?
Orioles.
Agree with both parts. It's kind of analogous to Moneyball before the movie came out, for me - liked the book a lot, not sure the movie will work, definitely going to watch.
The Orioles are forgotten so quickly.
edit - have a Coke Gamingboy
And is that guy behing home in the stands in an orange Marlins wind shirt?
dang
Yes, but in the last commercial they were transferring a video.
The Mets do as well - although it's easy to forget about them in a postseason context.
I was making a sandwich.
EDIT: Coke.
Yeah, there was a thread here about him. http://www.baseballthinkfactory.org/newsstand/discussion/sb_nation_the_curious_case_of_the_mystery_marlins_fan_at_the_world_series
EDIT - Coke to GB
That's my one honorary Ben Wright joke of the day
gosh she looks like it
but my eyes are going to h8ll so who knows?
it is not a statue of st michael
whodathunkit?
I almost asked what the minimum was for batters faced in a complete World Series game before realizing that I was an idiot.
Someone could have faced fewer than 27 if they lost a 1-0 (or 2-0 or 2-1) game and only pitched 8 innings.
True. But my thought process was wondering whether Bumgarner had a shot at it before Jackson walked, and the Tigers are the road team.
