Greg Harris the ambidextrous pitcher went to my high school.

The international feed just twice showed a guy down the third base line who was wearing a Giants jersey and a massive Panda head. It's nightmare fuel, like something out of Donnie Darko.

And then the Giants speed it up so he is at only 34 pitches through 2.

Not very good strategic thinking on their part.

The Curse of the Panda... 0-2 GDP against a pitcher who is otherwise in danger of needing 40 pitches to get through 2 innings.

Lewis: 33 pitches

Disagree. Frenchy has like the Henry Aaron of jokes/games. Lots of jokes, and lots of games played for a joke player. Lopez has much less jokes, but 1/2 as many games. The real king is Chris Truby (263 games, neverending meme).

Shocking EDIT: Truby's wikipage is mainly devoted to discussing his satanic practices.

Shockingly, we collectively think McCarver was wrong. I will grant Tim that if going on contact is the "right play" (and I doubt it is), then the fact that he looked like hew could have been dead meat is irrelevant - the runner goes before he can judge his chances.

...and that bomb makes the choice even more correct in hindsight.

How does the bomb make the choice more correct? Assuming Molina still walks, Francoeur would have scored on the HR just as easily as Cruz did from 3B. As much as I hate saying these words, I agree with McCarver. That's a spot for the contact play.

I think Jonathan Sanchez shouldn't be anywhere near the World Series right now.

Maybe. He's only hitting 90 at best with the fastball.

You will recall that the Rangers reluctantly gave up their starting first baseman, Justin Smoak, to get Cliff Lee. They didn't throw him in until it was almost too late. They tried to platoon Davis and Cantu for awhile, then brought Moreland up from AAA.

Methinks they like the trade just fine right now.

How does the bomb make the choice more correct?

My bad. Yes, the end result would be the same.

Ken Rosenthal looks like Pee Wee Herman's long lost brother.

1. Ump blows call [ ]

Almoit, as they said Hirschbeck was signaling out on the ball Burrell actually trapped, but him losing it made it moot.

No NFL on the checklist?

EDIT: Did that just count towards #16?

Guillermo Mota is warming up.

As he should be. Sanchez has nothing tonight.

Ok, I think gratuitous American Idol references will have to be on tomorrow's checklist.

I get the sense that Sanchez is just tired. He's way over his single season high pitch count obviously. There's just no life in his pitches now and only the slider is working a little bit, but doesn't have the same movement it did last month.

Going to Pizza Hut guarantees a second date? I think in that case I would have been the rejector.
