1. BurlyBuehrle Posted: August 18, 2011 at 01:44 PM (#3902944)Man, if only Adam Dunn and Alex Rios could help the team even while being (very) bad, the White Sox would have about 100 wins by now.
This year's team is one of the more disappointing Pale Hose squads I can recall.
And I thought Rios was back, after what he did last year. Too bad, he's a hell of an exciting player to watch when he's on.

I'll give you Dunn, but Rios? He was absolutely horrible in 09, pumping out a 79 OPS+.
And what exactly dod he do last year? He had one really, really hot month in May, and was below average the rest of the way, being back to completely craptacular by the end of the year. His OPS+ by month: 100; 175; 95; 87; 80; 65. Honestly, how did people NOT expect him to be terrible? (maybe not this terrible, but still terrible)
He's a different kind of consistent now. From Posnanski on Tuesday:
Here is Adam Dunn's batting average split up every 10 games:
First 10 games: .162
Games 11 to 20: .147
Games 21 to 30: .250
Games 31 to 40: .205
(This included a four-hit game)
Games 41 to 50: .114
Games 51 to 60: .133
Games 61 to 70: .061
Games 71 to 80: .103
Games 71 to 90: .212
Games 91 to 99: .129
