Yahoo!: Orioles add OFs [Endy] Chavez, Hoes; designate RHP Gregg

The Baltimore Orioles purchased the contracts of outfielders Endy Chavez and L.J. Hoes from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday and designated veteran reliever Kevin Gregg and infielder Ryan Adams for assignment.
...
The Orioles added Chavez and Hoes because they’re short on outfielders after Nick Markakis broke his left thumb Saturday.
...
Hoes, the Orioles’ third-round pick in the 2008 draft, began this season with Double-A Bowie. He was promoted to Norfolk, where he hit .300 with three home runs and 38 RBIs in 82 games.

We're the Orioles, owned by Angelos
Only two guys who can hit, Reynolds and Adam Jones
Nick Markakis on the DL making lots of dough
Now we gotta win the AL East with L.J. Hoes

In my experience, the services of Hoes can be a very good investment for a young man just learning how the world works.

O's before Hoes?

And now Hammel leaves the game with an injured (recently surgically repaired) knee. The Orioles could be without their best hitter and best pitcher for the season.

Of course, the nice thing about having a playoff contender with no star players is that losing your best two players probably hurts less than it would most other teams.

I'm glad to see we're going for the ho jokes over comments about indie darling Ryan Adams. Restores some of my faith in Man.

The best news in this article is that Kevin Gregg will no longer have the chance to soil the mound for the Orioles.

#1 is awesome. Nice job.

I don't even want to know how much you have to pay to get a LJ.

Hoes is local, born in Washingon, DC, went to St. John's High School in DC. He played in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League for Youse's Maryland Orioles while still in high school.

If you have to ask, you can't afford it.

Ryan Adams is an indie darling? In 2012? (or is this New Zealand time?)

I heard on the radio that Hoes went to Rutgers, but maybe I misunderstood what Imus was saying.
