Yahoo! Sports: MLB - The Inside Corner: Belle has Hall of Fame credentials

Bill Bavasi makes a case for adding Albert Belle to the Hall of Fame. He doesn’t win any points with me when he says, “As a hitter, Belle was as good as anybody of his era. Was he as good as anybody that has ever played the game? That’s a judgment call I’m not about to make and we’ll never have legitimate data with which to make objective comparisons.” No legitimate data? Pull yourself away from the TV once in a while, Bill. Read some of the statistical analysis that has been published in the last twenty-plus years. Go ahead, you might learn something.
