Yahoo updates Sports app to turn game highlights into GIFs

Yahoo released a new version of its Sports app today that has been redesigned for iOS 7 with a heavy emphasis on GIFs. Yahoo Sports’ GIFs, which it calls Loops, take short clips from game highlights and allow users to overlay text. They can then share their creations with the community, with the GIF appearing inside a feed on the main game results page.

So, do we need a GIF thread?

Update: Link added, Jim.

GIFs are so last millennium!

I remember when yahoo was useful even on tablets. BBTF insists on serving a “lowres” version whenever I visit on tablet, but it still works. There are not enough gifs in the world to excuse what happened to yahoo.

I really hate BBTF on mobile, because there's always a stupid Kia ad taking up the bottom third of the screen, and the box to tap to make it go away is so tiny I always miss at least 1/3 of the time.

I already bought a car from you #############. Leave me alone!

I wish Yahoo sports would update itself to become what it was 7 months ago

Vlad, I completely agree on the Kia ad problem. I only get them on my phone not my tablet. Incredibly annoying. Does the x to make it go away actually work? It's never worked for me, so I'm wondering if it's just a decoy to make me click.
