It seems like a very long time ago that people were calling for Girardi's head over not challenging that possible foul ball.

I would totally root for that. I wouldn't even care about the carcass part.

Anything is better than the pathetic non-offense they've been putting up.

Not sure it follows, from the Yankee perspective, that the Cubs have to win that 3rd game, as long as it goes 25 innings and the winners top 3 starting pitchers all go 4+ innings. I'm actually pretty neutral, and getting by a darn good Astros team would be significant enough that momentum should take the Yankees the rest of the way. I do tend to root against repeat winners, so that the Yankees unparalleled accomplishments in the three-tier playoff era stand alone, but that's not much of an actual rooting animus.

Well, I was rooting for the Cubs because I've seen 9 Yankees-Dodgers World Series and never seen a Yankees-Cubs. Plus the Cubs are still the Cubs, last year's win aside. It would've been like taking candy from a baby with their pitching staff of stiffs.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves. The Astros ain't dead yet. Minute Maid isn't Yankee Stadium, and the Tiny Terror Tot's still capable of terrorizing entire games all by himself.
