HOW WILL THE CARDINALS CONTINUE THEIR FREE FALL TODAY?

Royals/Yankees rained out, will play a day-night doubleheader tomorrow.

The Nationals Juan Soto hit his 13th HR against the Marlins tonight, tying Mickey Mantle on the Teenage HR List. Only Griffey (16), Ott (18), Harper (22) & Conigliaro (24) have done better, and Soto's accomplishment comes in but 200 ABs. Now at .310/.420/.570.

I'm just glad that Bradley waited about 22 hours to do what he just did.

I am officially tired of this ####### around with Ian Happ at third base.

Max Scherzer now 14-5 after his 8-inning, 3-hit, 11-K effort in tonight's 9-1 Nationals victory.

So can the Twins now HOLD that hard earned lead?

EDIT: Sorry, that was a stupid question. (Hangs head in shame.)
   10. ERROR---Jolly Old St. Nick Posted: July 27, 2018 at 10:25 PM (#5717228)
Well, at least they can't use Kimbrel tomorrow.

Ah yes, the old double blown save caper. To the 10th!

From the trench scene in The Roaring Twenties:

Cagney: Wait, don't shoot! That's just a boy! He can't be more than fifteen!

Bogart: (Grinning and firing away) He'll never see sixteen!

And don't worry, the Twins will never see the 11th inning.

EDIT: I SWEAR I wrote the above before Mookie connected.

I blame Andy on this one. #9 interfered with the natural progression of events.

hijacking myself from the trade deadline thread because this crew deserves it:

many MLB teams have a "family trip" during the season whereby loved ones fly on the plane with the players as sort of a bonding thing.

the Mets being the Mets, they took off for Pittsburgh yesterday morning for a 4-game series with the Pirates. July 26-29, what could go wrong?

so just before tonight's game, Mets radio guys said Cabrera and his entire family were trying to figure out if they should join him in Cincinnati (where the Phillies are playing) or just go home.

quite the "first-world problem," as they say on Twitter - but Mets, don't ever stop doing you.

Dante Bichette

Sam Stafford

Jordan Cote

Matthew Duran

Those were the four players the Yankees drafted in 2011 before the Red Sox drafted Mookie.

went to the game today(b-day present)

1. There is no way that Dejong's hit should be called a triple.
2. Fowler ruined an absolutely perfect sacrifice bunt by going home (first and third, no outs, pitcher up to bat, he lays down a sac 5 feet in front of the bag, no chance for a play at second, and for some ####### reason, Fowler ran home, and he wasn't going on contact, this wasn't a suicide, it was just a bad read)
3. My gf think it's funny that I harp on the Dejong triple, it wasn't a triple, he was barely around second base when the cutoff man, the second baseman, got the ball..... that was a double and advance on the throw by definition.

Cardinals made a bunch of moves today, and the paperwork that came with the program accurately reflected all those moves, I was impressed that they got those changes done that fast.
