Brewers - DFAed Moeller

Milwaukee Brewers - Designated C Chad Moeller for assignment.

Moeller should have been a good backup catcher for the Brew Crew after being picked up as an afterthought in the Richie Sexson trade.  Unfortunately, he forgot how to hit the ball in 2004 and his glove isn’t anywhere near good enough to carry him when he’s not hitting.  Unless Moeller can channel his days in the southwest, he’s going to bounce around at AAA for the rest of his pro career.

Mike Rivera should be the replacement for Moeller.  He’s not a defensive guy, either.  Rivera was a non-prospect in the Tigers organization until he went nuts and hit 33 homers for Erie.  After a couple of bland cups of coffee, he’s been bouncing around the minors with little success.  I had him at 235/279/397 entering the season and that feels about right.

Remember when Moeller hit for the cycle?
Him and Jeff Frye.

Those, and the Bud Smith no-hitter.
