Cards - Acquired Vlad

St. Louis Cardinals - Acquired P Vladimir Nunez from the Texas Rangers for future considerations.

Vlad’s just hanging around as AAA fodder at this point after losing it in 2003, but he’s still probably a better emergency option than the abysmal Kevin Jarvis was.  I suspect that there’s some undisclosed injury here.

Nice headline, Dan.

My first reaction was "OK, so which Nunez was it"?

There were two Nunezes in the St. Louis game yesterday - Abraham, and Leo.

There ARE still 2 Vladimir Nunezzes in pro ball, aren't there? One was the pitcher, the other the OF who was part of the Penny/Mantei trade.

Wasn't that Abe Nunez in the Penny deal?

Retro - you're thinking of the 2 Abraham Nunezes - the toolsy outfielder and the craptility guy.

Argh--you're right. Don't mind me--I've got some burgers to flip...

The UT Nunez isn't actually that bad a bench player; he was just hideously misused in Pittsburgh.

I read that headline, and honest to god, I thought for a second it was talking about me.

I winced at the headline - you jerk.

I read that headline, and honest to god, I thought for a second it was talking about me.

Vlad, I thought the same thing, and no offense, but it did not make me happy.

First letter of each line: Sc Vau.

I don't see any hidden message. Must be legit.

You know, I knew the headline was going to be misleading as soon as I saw it, but my heart still fluttered a little. That's how good Jocketty is.

Whatever. I'd rather have John Mabry anyway.

"Vlad, I thought the same thing, and no offense, but it did not make me happy."

Maybe if I threw sidearm...

The toolsy outfielder Abraham Nunez is in the Mariners' system, playing at AAA Tacoma.

Dan Szymborski is a punk.

Those high-top Chuck Taylors with the vomit stains are a dead give away!

THe headline should be "Cardinals- Aquired Nunez" By saying just Vlad, the immediate thought is Guerrero

You wicked tease, you.

This site shouldn't be called www.baseballthinkfactory.org. By referring to a factory, the immediate thought is that I'm going to be magically transported to a factory, and not a website.

By the way, if you don't make this change, the California State legislature will force you to.
