Diamondbacks - Acquired Groom

Arizona Diamondbacks - Acquired P Lefty Groom from the New York Yankees for a player to be named.

The player to be named is not likely to be of any value.  A solid lefty reliever is something the Diamondbacks have been lacking this season and while Groom isn’t that solid, he may be the best for the rest of the season.  If he fails, I guess they can always melt him down for his nutrients or something.

During the game today, YES reported that the Yankees might recieve cash rather than a player.

The proverbial ptbnl or cash. Ie, a live arm from low a or $20.

I like it. Can't be any worse than the clowns Arizona's had so far and it definitely isn't a Patterson-Choate debacle.
