Indians - Signed Hafner

Cleveland Indians - Signed 1B/DH Travis Hafner to a 3-year, $7 million contract.

Nothing to complain about here - Hafner broke out in a big way last season after finally being left alone to kill the ball instead of every 0-4 with 2 K game threatening to stick him back on the bench.  Even if he regresses some, it’s just a tad over $2 million a year, which will still be a good deal instead of the arbitration numbers.  Hafner would have to turn into Rico Brogna to make this a bad deal and there’s a sizable gulf between his 2004 and Rico Brogna.  Thumbs up.

Aargh! Only 2 of those 3 years are arb years, so it's really a tad over $3 M per year. Still a fine deal.
