Mariners - Promoted Lopez

Seattle Mariners - Called up IF Jose Lopez; optioned IF Greg Dobbs to Tacoma.

Have two brothers ever both had their breakdown seasons at the exact same time?  I can’t think of any off-hand.  Too bad Bob isn’t managing this year - imagine having Bob, Aaron, and Bret all on the field at the same time and Bob being the best one at his job.  Shocking.

Bret simply needs to go away right now.  Morse isn’t as near as good a hitter as he’s shown so far, but if the Mariners are going to salvage the season (and time’s running out), they at least need someone who has more range at 2nd than Larry Flynt.  Lopez more than fits the bill.

Interesting about those hitting projections: Boone's are the best of the bunch! Sounds like this move will be for the benefit of defense.

Although Lopez's hitting much better these past 2 games than Boone has for a month....

I'm just getting around to seeing this, but I give you Andy and Alan Benes's 2001
