Mets - Activated Kaz

New York Mets - Activated 2B Kaz Matsui from the 15-day disabled list.

Free Jeff Keppinger!  It’d be nice for him if the good-field, zero-hit Hernandez and the bad-field, mediocre-hit Matsui would get injured simultaneously.  Now, Keppinger isn’t anywhere near the player that, say, our old friend Freedom, but the guy’s done everything he can to try and get a chance with the Mets.  Just because the team’s 10-4 doesn’t mean that they can’t try to upgrade second base - it’s not like Nady’s going to have an 1100 OPS all year, after all.

For three straight years Matsui has homered in his first at bat of the season. Pretty amazing...

So I happen to turn on the Mets game 3 seconds before he hits that ball. Lucky me. He cranked that Peavy fastball and it hits the wall and I'm thinking "he should get 3 on this". And then he scores. I never knew Matsui was so fast!

Once I missed a Carlos Beltran inside-the-parker because I was down in the concourse taking a piss or getting a beer, or both.
