Mets - DLed Ishii

Placed P Kazuhisa Ishii on the 15-day DL with a strained muscle.

Ordinarily, Jae Seo would be the obvious player to call up (the Mets haven’t said who yet), but the Mets clearly don’t like him and Seo got rocked just a few days ago by the Bats.  Bob Keppel and Jose Santiago are the other two likely candidates, but I doubt the Mets are going to call up Keppel to have him make his major league debut on very short rest, so Santiago’s the favorite if they call up someone to start.  Ishii’s not expected to be out more than the 15 days, so given the options, I’d probably just push Manny Aybar into the rotation, something he’s done before.

Well, Manny Aybar has the start today (if the game is even played... I'm hoping for absolute torrential rain).

After that, it will be interesting to see who they call up to put on the 25 man. I think Seo will get it, with them keeping Aybar in the 'pen (at least until early May when Benson is hopefully ready).

Well, they certainly avoided a Kaz-tasrophe! Badum-BUM...

Try the veal, I'm here all week, folks...
