Orioles - Activated Javy, DFAed Terrero

Baltimore Orioles - Activated C Javy Lopez from the 15-day DL; designated OF Luis the Terrible for assignment.

Not a lot of people at Saturday’s game when Lopez returned - too bad as the Orioles looked awesome compared to the Royals, with Mark Redman and Chris Booker throwing BP out there.  An Orioles game being an Orioles game, a few things still worried me - the 6-9 hitters featured the team’s 1B, LF, and DH and the fact that people are really falling in love with Brandon Fahey.  Watching Fahey a few years ago in Aberdeen, the first thought was “Is Bill Fahey a minority owner of the Orioles or something?”  Good to have Javy back and I hope that, if Javy looks healthy next few weeks, the Orioles axe Chavez.

Chris Booker's line this year is amazing. He has faced 11 batters this year, allowing 3 homer and 3 bases on balls (and two other hits). Even batting practice pitchers do better than that.

Dan, I don't know that praise gets any fainter than that.

True, though! RP gets mad when I'm needlessly critical after all.

The Os-Tigers game I watched, the announcers were fawning over Fahey. He's got McEwingtude, plus he looks like he's 15. When is Roberts coming back?

Soon, supposedly

Bill Fahey ... that's a blast from the past. I think I used to get about 15 Fahey cards every season.

Thus endeth Terrero's Oriole career without a hit?

The Royals announcers were fawning over Fahey all weekend. I guess having to watch Angel Berroa and Tony Graffainon all day will do that to you.

Jim Hunter would fawn over Osama Bin Hitler if he were wearing orange and black.

Yes, yes...I'm so terribly unfair.
