Orioles - Re-signed Millar

Baltimore Orioles - Re-signed 1B Kevin Millar to a 1-year, $2.75 million contract.

Have the Orioles ever made the decision to not sign a guy who simply liked playing in Baltimore?  I’d prefer the Orioles go younger and cheaper here play with the waiver wire here (they signed Josh Phelps a couple of weeks ago), but Millar was pretty good in garbage time and gets on-base a bit, so I’m not going to complain too much at the price.

I can understand why no one has posted about this entry; if Orioles management continues down the path of mediocrity with useless signings like this - BJ Surhoff redux - only the most desperate and die-hard of fans will venture into Camden Yards to watch this bunch.
I sure liked Mike Flanagan the pitcher, a hell of a lot better than Flanagan the baseball exec.
Even if Millar agreed to play for free, how can this possibly be helpful to ever getting back to baseball "The Oriole Way"?
Tejada must be pulling out his hair in frustration with actions like this. I hope he demands to be traded.
The only way this team gets fixed is to truly fai; throw a .380% winning percentage at the fans; have them boycott in mass and start over.
Better yet, the maybe owner will contract a terminal disease (asbestiosis?) and is then forced to sell the team.

I was listening to the local sports talk radio the other night and usually enjoy the opinions of the host and the interviews with players. He was down in FL at spring training and brought on Kevin Millar who he apparently loves. This was Millar's first interview for the 2007 season and when asked how it was to be back he said he was glad to get back to see all of the new hairdos this year. He said would like to get the owner to allow facial hair because he thinks facial hair translate to wins. The one thing Millar said the O's also needed was some naked guys running around the locker room. I thought I hated Ponson's out of shape arse but Millar is the worst. This guy is a joke, we should have never resigned him.
