Phillies - Signed Karim
Philadelphia Phillies - Signed OF Karim Garcia to a minor-league contract.
Now that I’m done projections (with the exceptions of players that I add in the next couple of months), it’s time to get back down to business.
There was a time where Garcia was a useful role player, with enough power to deserve a bench spot. He’s not really that hitter anymore - he went to play for the Orix Buffaloes after a pretty awful 2004 season, and hit 307/349/530 in 2005 (translated to PHI: 297/330/462), but followed it up with a pretty bad 249/302/412 (translated to PHI: 242/282/366) last season.
All-in-all, Garcia’s not a bad guy to stash in the minors for when injuries hit. He’s not good enough, however, to play an integral part in the Philly plan to get rid of the Worst Player In History Who Singlehandedly Holds The Team Back, Pat Burrell.

He was. Burrell can never truly be the WPIHWSHTB because he's white. Generally, we latch on to one minority (recently Rollins) as a great guy to prove to ourselves that we're not racist, then we can hate all the other minorities with a clear conscience.
Actually, with the emergence of Ryan Howard as our token non-white-guy-we-love, and Rollins's really expensive contract, I'm guessing that we soon turn on Jimmy after his 0 for 18 start in 2007.
Either that or Howard slumps, gets traded to Chicago for Gio Gonzalez and Gavin Floyd, and Rollins breaks DiMaggio's hitting streak by going 1 for 5 for the first 57 games, ending May with a .200/.200/.200 line, and is elected Mayor.

What does this mean?
Worst Player In History Who Singlehandedly Holds The Team Back. The guy who spells "team" with an "I" in it and drives in a hundred runs because he's selfish.
I thought that was A-Rod?
