Pirates - Acquire Ross

Pittsburgh Pirates - Acquired C David Ross from the Los Angeles Dodgers for cash.

With J.R. House out for the season, the Pirates were down to only 3 or 4 catchers in the organization better than Benito Santiago, so they remedied the situation.  Ross has been very disappointing so far; being a better option than Nito is not praise.  Put Ross down for 220/310/380 or so.

I'm unreasonably fond of Ross, given that he's got pretty good power indicators, and I think he's worth rostering if the only cost is a couple grand.

He's probably only on hand until Cota's back, though.

Has House signed with anyone?

Not to the best of my knowledge, no.

Ross was a black hole for my fantasy team last year, he deserves to serve some penance in Pittsburg.

So you can buy an actual Dodger for less money than it costs to renew your Dodger season ticket you have had for 43 years. I never would have guessed that.

Yeah, but those seats hold more value than Ross does.

I'd like to think that DePo could have gotten something better than $75,000 for him though.

House supposedly has been seen hanging around WVU football practice.

Well, it's $75,000, plus you have to pay Ross' salary. That could tip the scales the other way.
