Red Sox - Signed Santa

Boston Red Sox - Signed OF Moises Santa to a minor-league contract.

OK, kind of a nothing transaction, but I’m not going to get Santa-related headlines very often, even during the busy Christmas season. This Santa’s one of those popular toolsy Dominicans, but hasn’t really developed the power the Red Sox had been hoping and missed almost the entire 2006 season after messing up his elbow. He’ll probably be a Lowell Spinner this season, but he’s going to have to do something this season not drop completely off the radar Probably a worse hitter than Claus, but probably better blood pressure.

With a name like Moises Santa, you could cover Hannukah and Christmas in the same headline.

Olney is reporting that this is inaccurate; they actually bought him $51M worth of reindeer food so they can talk to him but he may not leave the North Pole.
