Reds - Activated Olmedo
Cincinnati Reds - Activated IF Ray Olmedo from the 60-day DL; transferred P Paul Wilson to the 60-day DL.
Olmedo’s been out after having Tommy John surgery. He didn’t actually need it, but when his arm was hurting last winter, Doc Andrews looked at his hitting stats and automatically assumed he was a pitcher.
Where do all the doctors that flunk out of Mexican medical school go? Apparently, the NL Central. First, we have the Pirates telling Kris Benson that the reason he can’t use his arm is that he doesn’t want it enough and makes too much money, then we have the Cubs, an organization that would insist to the media that Huey Long was day-to-day with tendinitis, and now we have the Reds, who have insisted that there was nothing wrong with Paul Wilson all season - except (whoops!) that he’s been pitching in extreme pain all season.
Now they just need to figure out what’s wrong with Eric Milton. “Yeah, we checked his arm but his nose didn’t light up, so we think he’s OK. We also successfully removed his wrenched ankle and the butterflies in his stomach.”
