Reds - Signed T.I.M.O.
Cincinnati Reds - Signed OF Timo Perez to a minor-league contract.
Dreams are funny things.
If I inherited or won, say, $200 million, I wouldn’t leap for joy, and say, “Finally! I can afford to get Scarecrow and Mrs. King Season 1 DVDs!”
If I was told I won a contest and could have my choice of any car I wanted, I wouldn’t exclaim “Sweet! There’s a 1984 Mercury Topaz with my name on it!”
And if I won one of my dream jobs as baseball general manager, the first I wouldn’t do is shout “Hurray! Now I can sign Timo Perez!”
But one man’s dream is another man’s nightmare.
Timo was given the nickname T.I.M.O., standing for “This Idiot Makes Outs.” I think that describes him quite nicely.
On a side note, when I saw “Reds Hire Krivsky” out of the corner of my eye when it first happened, I got all excited because I thought the Reds had hired RICK KRIVDA~! as the GM.

Please, Dan. There's enough GMs younger than me to make me feels like m y life is a failure already.
This is a nothig signing. Barring 3 or 4 injuries, there's no place for him on the MLB or AAA teams.
If they cut him, great. The problem is that now he has some chance of making the team, even if it is small. I'd prefer he didn't even have that chance.
