Rockies - Acquired King
Colorado Rockies - Acquired P Ray King from the St. Louis Cardinals for 2B Aaron Miles and LF Larry Bigbie.
The Cardinals will have to add another reliever after this trade, but they get some depth at 2B and the outfield, so it’s a fair exchange. St. Louis has 3 lefty relievers on the 40-man roster, Carmen Cali, Randy Flores, and Tyler Johnson and I can’t imagine LaRussa wanting to go into the season with all 3 on the team.
The Rockies planned on giving supersub Luis Gonzalez the 2B job full-time, so they won’t miss Miles and, being quite deep in organizational outfielders, traded one of the lesser of their surplus here. King will be the Rockies’ top setup man.

I can't think of a better fate for that tub of goo, Burger King -- he is a jerk and deserved this banishment, if you ask me.
