Tigers - Acquired Johnny Mac
Detroit Tigers - Acquired IF John McDonald from the Toronto Blue Jays for a player to be named.
Given that we’re talking John McDonald, I’d expect the player the Blue Jays get to be something along the lines of Nook Logan. But not Nook Logan, though, since the Tigers think he’s neato. With Koskie back and both Adams and Hill on the team, there’s no real reason for McDonald to be on the Jays. While some Jays fans have been upset about J.P’s apparent non-sexual man-love (since we know Shea’s position on homosexuals), it’s far, far better for the overrated, but useful Hillenbrand to get the attention when it could have very well been lavished on this guy.

1. Quinton McCracken's BFF Posted: July 23, 2005 at 07:01 PM (#1493823)Bush is coming up to start today. So they're back to 13 pitchers, until Koskie comes back. At that point, either Gaudin or League will likely return to Syracuse.
Yeah, did you use it in a derogatory sense?
Shea's quote was something like: "I've been hearing that Theo wants to trade me. That faggot."
It was a subtle joking usage. It was offensive.
It would be worse if Theo is gay and in the closet. That would amount to outing. Bad.
Second worst would be if Theo is straight. That would indicate that Shea thinks that you can malign straight people by calling them by gay-related epithets, and thus that being gay is bad.
Third would be if Theo were gay and out. Still not good, but at least it could possibly be meant the way some of my straight friends will sometimes call me "faggot" in a joking way. It would depend on the context.
I think it was just an idle insult. An incredibly immature insult punctuating a demand oozing with immeasurable arrogance. He came off sounding like a schoolyard bully with a heightened sense of self-worth.
But then I remembered a news item from back when I lived in Virginia. Some redneck shot up a gay bar in Roanoke. His motivation?
His last name was "Gay."
His last name was "Gay.""
Sounds about right for Roanoke. What a miserable place.
Hear hear. It's tha armpit of Virginia.
He also doesn't walk, grounds into double plays, and stole a spot on the ASG roster this year that could have gone to Hafner or Jeter.
I'm just curious.
And isn't 'stealing' a roster spot from Jeter a good thing?
