1. RepozHe has one hit since Sept. 18, 2003
A fine 1-55 streak (.018)...he deserves to keep it going.
What exactly is Gardenhire supposed to do if Mauer gets hurt in the 5th inning, Redmond comes on to replace him at catcher and gets hurt in the 7th inning, and then when Matt LeCroy comes up to bat in the 8th innning he gets hit in the head with a pitch? Who catches at that point? I know that Juan Castro and Nick Punto are both able to play a lot of positions, but neither has caught at the major league level. And you just can't win games in the big leagues without a veteran presence behind the plate.
Terry Tiffee deserves a shot. But not at the expense of your backup to your backup to your backup catcher. Stupid, stupid, stupid move by the Twins. At minimum, if you outright Miller, you have to call up a 12th pitcher. There's no way that you can get by with just the 11 currently on the roster.
But he's injured now, so FREE JUSTIN HU-- oh, wait.
He's back and healthy now. Look for a monster September, at least until Autrey gets another shot at him.

Relpy!
Oh wait...I am Milwaukee. My bad. Got confused.
Because one player wouldn't have made my team a contender. Huber's going to be awesome, but my pitching staff was a real train wreck (Ramirez excepted), and I had nothing in the system to remedy that. Ramirez, Guzman, Brownlie and ? isn't going to win anything unless I put together a 1000-run offense behind them.
Getting 4 pitchers back was totally worthwhile for me, and that was even before Hummel got the gorilla talent boost.
1/55... sounds like miller got Edwinned.
I think the better question is: why did Milwaukee trade Sizemore not to me? What's with this trading embargo anyway?
Let's stop all the feudin and a fussin and talk about how good Greg Golson would look in a Houston uniform.
I was going to ask in the thread if he was ridiculously over his projection. Of course, since the beaning I expect him to go all Dickie Thon on me. Damn you Scott Autrey, damn you and your libidinous whore of a sister!
See. SUCKA doesn't have only bad news for you.
I was starting to think that SUCKA had it in for me. Every deal I made was met with scorn and ridicule. I'm happy to hear that recent talent boosts have brought SUCKA around on the Huber and Brownlie deals, though.
I'm not sure anything will bring Joe Sheehan around, though. In addition to the column, he also sent me a dead rat, Kingman-style.
Or the Seattle Pilots, on turn-back-the-clock day.
The biography: "Greg Golson, Playoff Hero" has a nice ring to it. Gotta get us there first, though.
Rick/MIL
We had this chat a couple weeks ago during a Twins chatter. The correct answer is Justin Morneau, who was a catcher for about the first eight minutes he was in the organization. The better question (then) was Who Is The Sixth Catcher (Mauer Redmond Miller LeCroy Morneau ???).
At least we won't be treated to the sight of Matt LeCroy ending the game pinch hitting against a right handed pitcher any time soon.
