White Sox - Signed E. Perez
Chicago White Sox - Signed 1B Eduardo Perez to a minor-league contract.
Perez obviously wouldn’t start with the White Sox, with Thome and Konerko on the team, but he’s still good enough to give Thome an occasional day off against a tough lefty and serve as an emergency 1B/DH for either of those 2 starters. The big problem is the White Sox roster construction doesn’t leave room for Perez currently. The Sox do have a good offense, but sooner or later, having a complete joke of a player in left field every game is going to come back and bite them.

Any chance we can see a TO for the Erstad signing, Dan?
Perez used to play some OF. If he still can, he'd be a nice platoon-mate for Podsednik ... assuming they're not just gonna sit his butt on the bench. (Note, for all I know, Perez makes Manny Ramirez look like Geoff Jenkins in LF.)
