White Sox - Signed Scott of the Pod People
Chicago White Sox - Signed OF Scott Podsednik to a minor-league contract.
With DeWayne Wise going on the disabled list for roughly 2 months due to a separated shoulder, the White Sox looked at their centerfield depth chart and felt that Brian Anderson, Jerry Owens, and Miguel Negron didn’t provide enough depth at the “mediocre centerfielder” role yet. Brian Anderson hasn’t done anything since 2005 (his 2007 season in the minors pretty much killed off any notion of him being much more than a role player), but considering that none of the others have really done anything ever, the White Sox might as well stick him out there for a few months. This is what they look like they’re doing initially, but the timing of this transaction is suspicious.
This could be OK if the White Sox really use Podsednik as depth for a Charlotte team that doesn’t have any prospect outfielders, but Pods has no business being on a major league roster, unless one thinks being able to help an offense score runs or a defense prevent runs is something to be valued.
[Oops, change that wording around so that it disparages Scott Podsednik’s extremely limited ability to contribute to a major league franchise. -DS]

Also true of Albert Pujols. Unless...something was misworded?
Are you going to get the rest of the teams as far as your ZiPS write-ups? I know you posted the Sox' ZiPS on facebook but I enjoy equally the team overview that usually goes along with them...
I got caught in a huge March ZiPS rush and then had an emergency to kept me mostly away from internet for more than a week. If people are still interested, I could do something for the Sox and Yankees, maybe post everyone's full ODDIBEs. I had kind of assumed that people didn't really care too much since the ZiPS for those teams were released, but I've been getting e-mails that suggest I should reconsider.
Also, Civony? It's good marketing. As I'm living in my parents' basement, I could use a break from computing VORP, WARP, etc to play some Renaissance world conquering game. My Lord!
