No, stay at the hotel. Much more fun.

The only reason I can think to stay at the hotel is to recover from any drinking that might happen. A valid reason, but one I'm still on the fence about. I'll have to see what the better half says about such things, she's already a little freaked out that there are enough people that spend as much time thinking about baseball as me to necessitate a convention.

It actually sucks a bit that it is in Atlanta, since if it were anywhere else I might be able to convince her that there'd be enough for her to do in the city to make it worth a "vacation." Atlanta isn't a vacation destination for us, it is just were we have to go to get to an airport...

I'll give you one more reason, local people that don't get a room and take vacation often get sucked into work/family stuff and end up making just the ball game and maybe Saturday.
