Pitchers so dominated the game that, at season’s end, the club owners got together and voted to increase the distance from the pitcher’s mound to home plate by five feet: from 45 feet to 50 feet.

Cool article, about a player I knew nothing about. However, they really should fix this line. They moved the front line of the pitcher's box back five feet, right? There was no pitching mound at the time.

I'm reading 59 in 84 right now and really enjoying it. The writing is good, not great, and some of the drama is a little ginned up, but the information content of the book is fascinating.
