The first round of blame has to go to the offense/Bogar for failing to score in the eighth and ninth. Then Papelbon.

It can go to both. Fire the dumbcunt 3rd base coach who sent Scutaro after WATCHING HIM FALL DOWN.

But Papelbon has ALWAYS been overrated and has one ####### pitch, a 95 ####### MPH ####### MEATBALL.

The off-season thread should be fun. Aside from beheading the coaching staff, I've not sure what we should do with the 40-man roster, etc.

Bruce Chen would be a massive upgrade over everyone after Beckett and Lester.

Bedard was solid for us down the stretch. 107 ERA+. It just sucks that he's injury prone.

Jose, had I not watched the Tito experience in Philly up close (I live 20 minutes from Philly), I might not feel the venom I feel now. But he's the same guy now he was then. It worked for a while here/suited the roster; it doesn't work anymore. It happens. No one manages forever. He didn't adapt, facts on the ground change, and he's the same guy now he was in Philly... and it doesn't work any more. I'm tired of it. I want to see something new. Who cares if we miss the playoffs next year? It's not like we've made it the last two years anyway.

I'd go further and say we need to move on from Theo, too. But I see that as less likely to happen.

#111--Hmmm... I'll have to think about that a bit. Gillick is too old. Byrnes wouldn't come back. Next in would be Cherington; I'd be OK with that.

Why do you think Byrnes wouldn't come back?

I'm not sure I want Theo gone, but if he is gone, Byrnes is probably my #1 guy to replace him.

Theo's not a ####### god. He's not infallible. It's not like there literally is no one on earth who could do the job.

It's just time to clean it all out.

He doesn't have a winner. They ousted him last year, and the new GM had all his acquisitions suck and the team took off anyway. He's working in some capacity under Hoyer in San Diego.

I think I'd let Theo finish out his contract and see how next year goes.

The coaching staff needs to be totally cleaned out though. And probably the training staff.

edit: I see that someone else pointed this out prior. Anyways, Pat Gillick and Josh Byrnes are not the answer. Give me a non-retread who's dealt with a good farm system and I'm happy to hear the ######## about Theo ####-#### Epstein.

Seriously, it's a good thing it's Rosh Hashanah right now, I'm going to do a lot of cussing I need to atone for.

Sorry for the cussing. Theo ain't the Pope... and Theo sure ain't infailable. But I don't know of a single GM I'd want before Epstein.
