I turned to my daughter and said, "I'm so glad you're sitting here with me to enjoy this walk-off victory, which will occur on the next pitch".

But, really, if I get any points for that, it's only for calling the pitch, because it was completely obvious to anyone watching how this game was going to end as soon as Bogaerts reached.

Some day we'll be telling our grandkids about @davidortiz and they'll think we're exaggerating. But we won't be.

And of course, let's not forget the Boston Strong speech from 2013, and his dugout speech in the 2013 WS, both of which sparked the team to success without the use of a bat.

Morneau the MVP winner with 15 first place votes (12 Jeter, 1 Johan) gets no mentions in thread, goes 321/393/489, 6 HR, 42 RBI, starting from that day. Twins go 35-23, Morneau plays in every game. 4th in team WAR (Johan, Mauer, Liriano). Starting Aug 1st, Big Hurt also gets no mentions in the thread:
