Wouldn't this guy be more use than Huckaby?

1 - No.
2 - Maybe.
3 - Only with Wells.

Nice timing - Wagner was 3-for-3 with a homer last night, he's up to 392/474. I wonder if/when the Sox plan to promote him. With Wagner's age, he's going to need to move pretty quick in order to hang in as a real prospect - unless, of course, his defense still needs work down in Greenville, in which case he isn't all that much of a prospect anyway.

Definite sleeper based on what we know now. Seems to be developing in the just the last two years, and there are no red flags in his offensive numbers - they're just good across the board.

catchers have a history of being late bloomers.

I think there's some hesitancy to promote catchers mid-season, logistically.

He has put together a nice season. But he did come from 3 years at a highly competitive California school to the SALLY league.

I want to see him do it in Wilmington.

Wilmington? Seems like he would be a good candidate to jump right to AA. Nothing in his way (including all the way up to Bos with Varitek out) so I guess it would depend on how whether or not the demanding position makes him a one step per year guy. The Theo Sox really haven't had a catching prospect to develop. Shoppach was pretty well on the standard C track by the time Theo took over in 03.

Hey, Darren, you all right?

Anyway, here's news that 'Belli won't be out long. BTW, the haul we got on Deadline Weekend has now been DFA'd.

Also, here's Cafardo's notes column to chew on.

Then there's some good spin on Wells. Be nice if he came around, what with all those lefties in the MFY lineup.

Weren't Papi's bunt and Manny's big fly cool?

Oh, and also rumors of Foulke's demise might have been greatly exaggerated.

I've got my fingers crossed.

Olep--

As you'll see in my new threads, I need a visit from Mr. Sunshine! :)

That's good stuff there, but blah, I can't think about it now.
