hindsight is 20/20. lester was already at 119 pitches. you can't win them all, but it was a horrible way to lose the last game.

Way to keep your eyes on the prize.

At least the Yankees fans got to give a curtain call to the guy whose contract they wanted to void because they were so offended by his steroid use.
Hey! It wasn't because of his steroid use, it was because he was a steroid user who wasn't performing. Now that he's doing well, we cheer. Come on, doesn't anyone appreicate a good mercuial fan base anymore?

I posted this in the Game Chatter well after the game is down, but I don't at all understand the IBB to Matsui in the 9th. Yeah, it sets up the double play, but who cares? If you get Matsui OUT and then Pudge out it's the same end result as a DP, because the runner is on 2nd base, not 3rd. Weird.

And in the stands I couldn't really tell, but I assume the 0-2 pitch from Papelbon to Giambi was just terrible.

After a game like this, it’s easy to look for someone to blame.

After a game like this, I think it's pretty hard to look for someone to blame. A good team lost a close game to a good team. It would not even occur to me to look for someone to blame, especially not a manager. We scored two runs; tip the cap to the other team's pitching and defense and walk away.

According to Sox radio guys: Michael Bowden will make his debut start tomorrow night, not Pauley.

Hell ############# yes. Bowden instead of Pauley makes me happier than I can describe in words.

Here's hoping the kid shows some good stuff and grabs a spot in the rotation for September!

It'll be exciting to see him but I'm not expecting great results. He's just getting his feet under him at AAA and he's 21.

darren, it mens he'll throw a no-no. it's like a rite of passage for young sox starters now.
