He was a poor baserunner. He was a clubhouse cancer. He piled up RBI in blowouts but couldn't produce in the clutch. He struck out too much. And on and on.
What made Grieve's comments especially funny was that he had spent the previous winter as GM trying to lure Tartabull to Texas, only to see the Yankees swoop in at the end and top all bidders.
Yeah, I think #2 may have his years wrong. Grieve was the GM from 84-94.
