Teams of the Decades
Posted: 01 October 2007 02:08 AM   [ Ignore ]

Sorry if this has been discussed at length previously, but I couldn’t seem to find anything.  Anyone ever try putting together teams from each decade, i.e. All-Decade Teams?  I have been trying to do so for a game I am playing and have used two criteria:

1. Players can only appear on one team, the decade where they have the most at-bats or games pitched.
2. Hall of Famers are given the nod over non-HOFers unless there is extreme circumstances.

Let me know if this has already been discussed or if you are interested in me posting what I have accumulated so far.

1B Roger Connor - better hiiter than Anson, tho not as long a csareer. More durable and better D than Brouthers.

And I’d add Ward as a SS-P, and ditch Mulllane (pitched in a weaker league). but oevrlal, nice job! Luv the inclusion of Grant, the only black player likley worthy to be here.

Thanks for the info on James’ teams, I’ll look those up (do you know the publication year on that?).  Also, good idea on Ward, forgot about the P that he brought to the table.

In addition, the manager of the P1900 team would be Frank Selee.
