That shot for 4 was better than Kumble’s last.

IMHO, I think batsmen don’t attack Clarke in test matches enough. They should make him change his length. Walk down the wicket like Hayden. Stand outside the crease. go right back for some balls. If you let him dictate, you are going to be screwed.

Good point - it seems no one tries to attack him. I am not sold on him as a one day cricketer , but he focuses on test matches it seems.

Ganguly is one of those guys who when he is going good, just looks awesome.  And he is going good now. More assured in his stroke selection, less nibbling outside the off stump.

Baseball, I watch whats on tv, and I had mlb.tv
Discovered sopcast during the india-england test series ( June of this year ). I am not going to pay mlb.tv next year!!

A lot of Aussies hated Ganguly when he was captain - i never minded him.

I am an mlb.tv junkie but this could be interesting for me next year…

I might watch the odd celtics game as well, which is awesome.

Gridiron as well…

Pretty cool article on why Indians love Aussie cricket. Some great comments in the blog section as well.

Wow - Singh batting now? That must mean the next two are terrible right??

Great fielding from Symonds there - every single run vs. this team is well earned

Thats like 50 runs in the field right there between the 2 teams.

Nice link. I like aussie cricket, cos its attacking cricket, and they always force the issue. Plus I am a HUGE Ponting fan. Right from that 96 he made in his first test. So that helps

Harbhajan and Zaheer will both swing their bats. Aren’t defensively gifted, but they luck into a few runs.

EDIT : since the first innings at Lords ( first test v England in England ), this has been the most disappointing abtting performance I have seen from India. They need to develop a method to counter, and even put pressure on Clarke, or this test series won’t last long.

I remember that innings. He wasn’t out, IIRC

My top 5 favorite cricket memories

1 - When we beat England in 1989 to win the Ashes. Steve Waugh was amazing and we grew in stature as a team and have been great ever since.

2 - World Cup in 1999 - I was there

3 - The 2001 series vs India - I watched every single ball and Haydos was amazing. Tough loss to take.

4 - 2005 Ashes - Once again , hardly missed a ball

5 - Watching the West Indies play at the Scg in the late 80’s - they were awesome.

Such a bad miss by Bowden. I can’t stand it when umpires make simple errors. It happened yesterday as well when Johnson was caught in close yesterday and given not out.

Posted: 27 December 2007 05:44 AM   [ Ignore ]   [ # 200 ]

That was plumb as it gets. While Dhoni was a dodgy decision. Wish Bowden had reversed those!!

I was at the 99 world cup too!! flew back home after the Super sixes. Caught the SA/Aus semi on tv.

I don’t like the late 80’s Windies. I used to severely dislike Patrick Patterson. I liked the early 90s Windies, with Walsh/Ambrose/Bishop, and Lara and Hooper trying to establish themselves.
