Does anyone know where I can find a list of free-agent signings for any years from 1989-2009?

Ideally with players by position, with their new salaries, and their statistics for the previous season?

I realize this is a tall order, but I do not want to have to compile all of this data myself…

Are there any easy ways to do this with Excel? I’m not exactly a pro at that application.

There might be a better source for this at Cot’s or somewhere else, but a good place to start is USA Today’s Free Agent scorecard pages (2000 is here, change the 00 to 01 for 2001, then start here for 2003, etc).  It has position, former team, terms.  It lacks some late signings for each year, but it’s formatted well and lets you see all the free agents for one year on one page.

You can also use baseball reference’s league transaction pages to get a more complete look at free agent signings (as it would include the later signings that USAToday misses), but you’d need to click through to each individual player to find their position and terms of their contract.
