The disconnect between Dan’s stated political ideals and his behavior when he has the powers to dictate are rather notable.  Basically, he seems to be very concerned about his online reputation, but incapable of simply staying out of the political debates which tend to spin him up until he says something he regrets.  It’s a sad sort of thing, at heart.

And tshipman, thanks for tallying the times I was a dick.  We can’t all be blessed like you, that can just look at their post count.  And let’s not forget that you’re more obsessed with Ray DiPerna than John Hinckley Jr. was with Jodie Foster.  And you’re actually a more civil person than somethingother or veer bender!

I hit and run all the time.  People expect it from me.  Find a single example of me not owning my arguments, or even my bomb-throwing, after the fact.

Since you’re going into full meltdown, I guess we can assume this thread will get deleted, too.

Your statement about teachers was dickish.  No one threatened you.  And I have nothing against Ray.

Who deleted the thread?  For what reasons?

If you have nothing against Ray, I’d hate to see who you act towards people you do have something against.  I can’t imagine you being any less civil than you generally are.

Wait, that’s not true, I did see veer bender’s post, so I have an idea.

Dan, stop being a coward and answer the questions—who closed the thread?  who deleted it?  why?

veer didn’t threaten you—his response was remarkably civil given the vitriolic tone of your posts.  But since you made the thread and his comments go away, the community doesn’t have access to them so it can judge for itself.

tshipman’s right—this is full on meltdown mode on your part—drunk with the miniscule amount of power you have—king in castle! king in castle!

Bullshit.  His meaning was clear.

[Edit:  Almost forgot:  You can go to hell, too]

There was no threat—there was a piece of advice, one given based on your own comments about the wisdom of posting your political opinions.

Be honest—you have no self-control.  You lost it, you crossed the line, and then you burned the evidence.  Sam nails it at the top of the page.

veer’s reaction to the incident has been measured and conciliatory; pretty much the complete opposite of yours.  There was no threat.  None.  If you’re so confident about the meaning, re-post the exchange and let us see for ourselves.

You have a huge and hypocritical authoritarian streak in you that comes out in these threads.  It’s ugly.

Edit: wow, you are breaking down here.  This is really ####### sad.
