is erik karros making anyone else's brain bleed with regards to this all star ####? he's got a point about aramis ramirez, but him arguing that the manager should have more discretion when it comes to picking players is just asinine considering that the players bochy already picked were among the most indefensible selections.

Incredible AB by Cliff Lee.

Even funnier that Jair Jurrjens was calling the play by play.

Cliff Lee: Arguably a superior hitter to Alex Gonzalez, Julio Lugo, Jordan Schafer.

I totally missed that Julio Lugo was on the Braves now. Surprised there wasn't a thread anywhere when that happened.

I thoroughly enjoyed Jair. I loved the way he said "OH, NO" when Lee hit his HR.

What's the point of pinch-hitting if you're going to go with Hicks?
   7. Ignatius J. Reilly Posted: July 09, 2011 at 10:25 PM (#3873073)
Cause he's better than Wilkin Ramirez?

AGon is so awesome. He's reliable, everyone loves him in the clubhouse, and his farts smell like rainbows and lollipops.

Not like that #######, Yunel.

Sherrill against two righties? Fredi continues to amaze me. Use Gearrin. Why else is he in the majors?
   9. Sweatpants Posted: July 09, 2011 at 10:53 PM (#3873105)
George Sheriill is going to come in to pitch to a bunch of righties? I know that you have to focus on the present, but I think that I'd keep him for whenever Utley, Howard, and Ibanez come up.

I can't wait for Fredi to give me uclers in the playoffs.
   11. Sweatpants Posted: July 09, 2011 at 10:58 PM (#3873110)
Martinez is listed at 145 pounds. That has to be the lowest listed weight in the bigs.
   12. Ignatius J. Reilly Posted: July 09, 2011 at 11:01 PM (#3873115)
I'm not sure what's worse: that Fredi thinks Sherrill is more than a LOOGY or that he uses Scott Proctor in any leverage situation.

AND HE'S LEAVING SHERRILL IN?!?!?!!?!?
   13. Ignatius J. Reilly Posted: July 09, 2011 at 11:06 PM (#3873117)
I was wrong. But only because Michael Martinez and John Mayberry aren't good.

You know things are getting bad when even the Braves beatwriters are asking why Gearrin is buried.
   14. Ignatius J. Reilly Posted: July 09, 2011 at 11:07 PM (#3873119)
And I'm enjoying how the bottom the 11th is set up for Gearrin/Proctor v. the lefties if the Braves can't push one across here.
   15. Sweatpants Posted: July 09, 2011 at 11:10 PM (#3873121)
Hinske walks - I'm genuinely surprised. Ramirez comes in to pinch-run; I think that I'd rather have Ramirez pinch-hit in the seventh and save Hicks for pinch-running, but it probably would lead to the same result either way.
   16. Sweatpants Posted: July 09, 2011 at 11:12 PM (#3873124)
Hey, give him two outs per at-bat and Gonzalez is deadly.
   17. Ignatius J. Reilly Posted: July 09, 2011 at 11:12 PM (#3873125)
The last inning or so has been hysterical and utterly improbable.
   18. Sweatpants Posted: July 09, 2011 at 11:17 PM (#3873131)
That was a little more predictable.
